I was lucky enough to attend the VIP opening event for Mascotte on Friday April 12th. Mascotte is a shoe and accessory brand for both men and women retailing internationally for over 10 years and launched their first flagship UK store at Westfield on Saturday April 13th.
The Mascotte playground situated in the main atrium of the shopping centre was made up of 3 large replicas of Mascotte shoes and models promoting the brand. We were greeted by some lovely members of Native – the footwear’s social team; giving us background information on the company and gave us a chance to meet with other fashion minded people attending.
We were initially given a tour of the new store and got a first glance at their new SS13 range whilst enjoying a glass of Searcy’s champagne and macaroons, not forgetting Rituals providing hand and arm massages – perfect relaxation!
The brand itself creates collections by a talented team of designers experimenting with new materials, patterns, cutting styles and fittings. Mascotte offers a wide range of footwear and accessories of; bags, belts, scarves, purses and wallets in vast colours and patterns that allow these designs to sustain originality.
The menswear range covers every occasion with the front of the store displaying everything business-like. Styles include perforated leather formal, suede derby and brogues all within a reasonable price range and worth investing in.
There are also matching sets of shoes, wallets and bags that effortlessly work and don’t look tacky or gimmicky. As for the casual side goes; there is a much more colour – still muted although gives a way to brighten a spring wardrobe. Much softer materials including leather and suede and styles in the form of boat shoes and loafers, that again look sophisticated and fashionable without looking over the top for a casual day outfit. Details do not go a miss here!
We were very spoilt on the evening and lucky enough to choose any pair of shoes and take them home with us! Ladies are always spoilt for choice and with Mascotte having a pair under every colour, style, pattern and heel height it was hard making a decision! I chose a classic peach pointy patent midi heel, a pair that can be worn for almost any occasion and something I wouldn’t normally buy!
An overall great event – they made us feel very welcome and gave us all a great opportunity to network with other bloggers, not to mention the goody bag we got to take home! I wish Mascotte all the success in the UK!
