Asics Gel Excel 33 2

And so it begins! The sunshine gives us a bit of heat for once. It’s time to pack away those running skins (aka meggings), those Bolle ski goggles and bring out the short shorts, golf bags, swimwear...whatever you get up to in the summer!

We’re into our running at the moment, with our recent spot being Regents Park starting at the peak of Primrose Hill. If anyone has ever experienced the joys of ‘runners knee’ or ‘shin splints’ you’ll know that when it comes to running it’s best to avoid the fashion trainers and go for brands who dedicate themselves to the technology or running. Asics, Brooks, Mizuno - those sort of brands.

Up and Running have this cool way of fitting you and matching you to a pair of trainers that fit both your feet and your running style. It involves running on a treadmill while the expert team dish out words like “over pronation” and “under pronation” but it certainly works wonders!

The Asics Gel-Excel 33 2 model above was one of the matching pairs to aid stability and cushioning (damn you runners knee) to help you run more naturally. It also introduces Fluid Axis technology, which basically means you run with a natural motion, and a nifty feature includes something called ‘Propulsion Trusstic’ which mimics the arch of the foot to assist your foot in propelling you forward.

This trainer has best of both words. It’s a serious running trainer that also looks fashionable, which usually is very hard to come by.
